SkinPen® Precision uses precision microneedling technology to reduce the appearance of acne scars. This process triggers natural skin healing, remodels scar tissue, and promotes the proper deposition of collagen and elastin.
Collagen and elastin, the essential proteins in the skin’s connective tissue, provide strength and elasticity. As we age, these proteins degrade, leading to the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and enlarged pores. SkinPen® Precision treatment promotes collagen and elastin regeneration, contributing to a more youthful appearance of the skin.
SkinPen® Precision minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores by remodeling collagen fibers, increasing skin thickness, and stimulating collagen and elastin production. Visible results are seen after the first treatment.
SkinPen® Precision improves the appearance of pigmentation disorders (dyschromia) by returning the skin’s pigment activity to normal.
SkinPen treatments are minimally invasive and precise, using a sterile needle attachment that creates temporary microscopic channels in the skin. This process triggers natural healing and collagen and elastin production. The treatment typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the type, extent, and area of the face or body.
After the treatment, the skin will be red and irritated, similar to a mild sunburn. You may feel some tightness and slight sensitivity to touch in some areas. These sensations will subside within a few hours. The skin will usually return to normal within the next 24 hours and after three days, there will likely be no visible signs of the treatment.
Multiple treatments are required to achieve the desired result, at least 3 to 4, and more may be needed for scars. The intervals between treatments are 4 weeks.
